Doing it this way encourages the children to sing the song slowly and lessons the confusion when it comes to the… L, m, n, o, p part.

Using words from Phase 2 Phonics, I have created, 20 comprehension cards. Each card has one simple sentence and then 2 questions to answer. Child can read the sentence and then adult can read the question to them and the child can write their answers below. These could printed off and used as a quick group activity or laminated and used during child initiated time.

Unscramble the simple sentences and rewrite in the space above. All words are in Phase 4 Phonics, including tricky words. There are 7 worksheets with 4 sentences, along with pictures, on each sheet. Sheets can be given to the children whole or cut into 2 or 4. You might also want to laminate them and leave out for the children to access during free flow.
